Oso Landslide

Search, rescue and recovery continues on the landslide near Oso, Washington.  The American Red Cross as well as other first responders such as National Guard, FEMA Urban Rescue and other search and rescue teams are currently providing most of the response activities along with Medical Reserve Corps.  Later in the disaster cycle, there well be the need for other Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster to assist in other recovery efforts.
Washington Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (WAVOAD) is coordinating the response of Faith-based and Voluntary Organizations. If your organization would like to assist, please contact Jay DeBoer, WAVOAD, email deboerjay@aol.com or contact Mike Bullard, chair INWVOAD, email mabullard@gmail.com  .   Please do not self deploy
Please do not send "stuff" such as clothing, household goods, etc.  Financial donations are needed and can be made through your local church, synagogue, or mosque on behalf of the Oso Landslide.  Donations can also be sent to American Red Cross, Presbyterian  Disaster Assistance, United Methodist Committee on Relief, Salvation Army, Catholic Charities and other reputable disaster organizations.
It takes a community to recover from a disaster.  Be a part of that community.
