People in Ferry County talked about "wind sheer" to account for the trees snapped off by the hurricane-force winds that struck Ferry County. The storm hit on July 20th and left much of Ferry County in the dark. Preliminary estimates say that one person died, 11 homes were destroyed, and over 30 homes were damaged in Ferry County which includes the Colville Confederated Reservation. The heaviest damage appears to be around Keller, Washington.
